Ugenya Youth & Community Development Project

Founded in 2006, UGENYA YOUTH AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (UYCDP) is a grassroots non-profit Community-Based Organization in Umala village, rural Kenya. The organization was established by the founder who is a native of the village together with other villagers who share the same vision, primarily to initiate, support and implement youth and community development programs.

The organization was later registered in 2007 as a non-profit organization with the Ministry of Social Services under the National Plan for Community Development.

Our Vision

To see a community without extreme poverty, where ALL members live healthy, self reliant lives in a clean and peaceful environment, and where their essential needs necessary for dignified living are met through sustainable social, cultural and economic activities.

Our Goal

The overall of UYCDP is poverty reduction and sustainable social, economic and cultural development of the community through promotion of good agricultural practices, education, health, natural resources management practices, culture/arts, economic empowerment, ICT, clean water and sanitation.
